Description

The “Engineering a Better World” conference is to take place next Wednesday, May 13 from 11am-2:30pm (including a FREE lunch at noon) in Mitchell Auditorium (1st Floor of Bossone).

The event this year is titled “Engineering the World: The Diversity of Engineering.” The goal of the conference is to represent and give examples of the diversity of engineering education, career opportunities and the global impact.

Our four speakers are:

1. Dr. Adam Fontecchio – (11 am)

Drexel ECE Prof. will present the evolution and diversity of engineering education

2. Orlando Gutierrez – (11:30 am)

Ex-president of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) and retired NASA engineer will discuss benefits of a diverse population

3. Dr. Tony Lowman- (1 pm)

Drexel CoE Associate Dean who will discuss entrepreneurship and business within engineering

4. Mary Graham – (1:30 pm)

Founder of Practical Small Projects will discuss best practices when cultural implications affect engineering projects

At 2:00pm there will be a round table discussion with all the speakers taking questions.
