* New Archives Exhibition and Opening Reception *
“It’s (not) Always Online: Reference Materials from the Drexel Rare Books Collection,” a new exhibition from the University Archives will be on display at W.W. Hagerty Library (33rd and Market Streets) Wednesday, November 18, 2009 through Friday, January 8, 2010. The exhibition will explore questions such as “How did people get anything done before Google?” and “Does anyone need a printed dictionary anymore?”.
The exhibition features a variety of encyclopedias, dictionaries and lexicons from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. Among the items included in the exhibition is /The Lexicon of Sextus Pompeius Festus/, circa 1622.
An opening reception for the exhibition will be held on Wednesday, November 18, from 4 to 6 p.m. on the lower level of W.W. Hagerty Library. The reception is open to the public and complimentary refreshments will be served.
