“Chat and Chew” with Tony De Nonno

The Italian Students Organization will host a “Chat and Chew” with Tony De Nonno (above) today, May 12, 2009, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in room 125, Nesbitt Hall (33rd and Market Streets).

The Drexel community is invited to watch De Nonno’s hourlong PBS documentary Heaven Touches Brooklyn in July. Following the screening, De Nonno will hold an informal discussion about his work and life. Members of the Piazza Nuova Lodge of the Order Sons of Italy in America of Yardley, Pa. will also be in attendance. Refreshments will be served.

De Nonno produced, wrote and directed more than 50 award-winning documentaries, which have been broadcast on major television networks and are in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, alongside directors Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen. Heaven Touches Brooklyn in July is narrated by John Turturro and Michael Badalucco and documents the 300 year-old ritual of “The Dance of Giglio” in New York.
