Late Night Peer Readers – Week 9


Week 9 in the Bookmark Cafe: the Drexel University Writing Center will be holding late night reviews from 9pm to 12am Tuesday and Wednesday. Peer Readers from a variety of majors will be there (Business, Engineering, Humanities, & Nursing), and if you bring a paper that needs reviewing, you get free coffee and desserts.

You can sign up, or drop in to the event. To sign up for an appointment visit rich65.com/drexel. If you have never used the online appointment scheduler before, the registration takes a minute. Then go to the schedule “Peer Readers, Spring 09-10” for May 25th and 26th to sign up with an appropriate Peer Reader.

Coffee Talkin’

CGTSPS has 2 Coffee Talks coming up! Come to learn, listen, and contribute your own opinions. We hope to see you there!*

Come and learn about Drexel’s most innovative in‐house laboratory. The Drexel Smart House project will deliver the home of the future. Innovative interior technology, lots of constant high‐tech monitoring, and a very energy efficient power consumption are only few of the many plus points of this project. Dr. Eugenia Victoria Ellis from the Dept. of Architecture and Interiors will talk about the project and the activities that her group has been carrying out and how will this project affect the industry and university. The next edition of the Coffee Talk series will be led by Professor Mary Ebeling of the Culture and Communications Department. The topic will focus on “Culture Jamming and Public Space”. We will look at a few examples of current culture jamming events (such as the Yes Men’s publication of a fake issue of the New York Times on July 4, 2009: http://www.nytimes‐se.com/, what the purpose is of culture jamming as it relates to public space, and what it means in contemporary American political culture.

Transfer Student Coffee Hour
