Conversation Network Reception

Conversation Network Reception The Conversation Network, a program of the English Language Center, pairs up Drexel students who are studying foreign languages with international students who speak those languages and are studying English. Once partnerships are formed, participants decide when to meet and what to discuss, splitting the time between each language.
A reception for the Conversation Network will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Private Dining Area of the Creese Student Center, lower level (32nd and Chestnut Streets). The reception is an opportunity for any who are interested in participating in the Conversation Network to meet each other. Free pizza and soda will be served.
To register for the Conversation Network, visit the ELC Web site at http://www.drexel.edu/elc/studentlife/convnet/cnmain.html or fill out a form at the reception.

Information session on volunteer positions

Dear all freshmen,

Do you guys still need to volunteer for Univ 101 or whatever it is now?  Just curious, because if you do, this event will serve you VERY well.  Please visit http://guidingyouth.org/ now however so you don’t miss out on this amazing opportunity.  They also have a twitter you can follow at http://twitter.com/drexelgyc, which is desperately in need of followers!

What: Guiding Youth to Careers Information Session
When: Saturday January 9th and Sunday January 10th (identical sessions, your choice)
                3:00-4:00pm
Why: Learning how to serve in this innovative mentoring program which is a UNIV 101 service opportunity
Where: Hill Seminar Room, LeBow Center for Automation Technology
So, this session has been brought to our attention by Mark Szymanski of the GYC, Center for Civic Engagement.  He says:
“I have two (identical) information sessions for a social justice program called Guiding Youth to Careers, a mentoring program in which Drexel students devote an hour a week in order to meet with high school students during class.

We’ll have snacks and food available for this hour-long session.”

So there you have it, a way to complete your volunteer requirement, actually make a difference in Philadelphia, and get a snack.

Best wishes,
Free food at Drexel Staff

Dear everyone else,
Hehehehhe, we know where Hill is and they don’t, mwahahahahaha….
