Today.  Today was a free food day.  Holy shit.

So, those of you unfamiliar, we (I) like to post reviews of what we actually attend (since we attend stuff in a group).  This post covers
  • R: Seniors and Young Alumni Networking Night
  • F: Open Mic Night @ North Hall
  • R: Apple Pi Luau
  • SLF meeting (don’t think I included it on the blog, but they had pizza, lots of pizza, so much pizza I wanted to twitter that there was extra pizza, but I didn’t want to force you guys to sit through philosophical debates, something I enjoy, even if I have to miss Grey’s Anatomy for 🙁 )
For the record, I would just like to put forth that the FF@D team is a group of 4 seniors here at Drexel, so appoligies if we list senior events (it’s not that you can’t go, just don’t be sad if it’s at a bar).

R: Seniors and Young Alumni Networking Night

Fabulous! Well, if you like fried food, free sodas, and $2 beers it was excellent.  Technically the organization running it would have preferred if everyone pre-registered (we’ll definately be more careful to note this in the future, just read the tags at the bottom of the posts if nothing else), but they didn’t turn anyone away if you weren’t on the list.
So, we got there, got our name tags, were presented with a buffet which had: bacon and cheese stuffed chicken spheres, Mikey’s fries, potato skins, fried mac ‘n cheese.  There was also the “Law Buffet” which we picked from which had: spicy mozzerella sticks, some sort of spicy indian spring roll whose name escapes me-I’ll have to ask my old boss what they’re called, chicken bits with some asian sauce on it.  There were also chips and soda.  The bar was packed at times, empty at others, either way everything was free or cheap.
Also, what we thought was an R was definitely a F, now we know.
oK Go says: “can you just add that i said it was alot of fried”

F: Open Mic Night @ North Hall
And what we thought was F was R.  And I was allergic to one of the snack items 🙁
We hit the place up around 7:30 and there were some people playing guitar.  It was okay, it’s what you expect from a bunch of college kids who aren’t that great but better than me.  Not much to add, we stayed till 8pm when we walked over toooooooo…

R: Apple Pi Luau

Whoops again! Shit, I gotta get better at this… sorry apple pi, that really was a great pig roast. You guys had the music we listen to, the sodas we love, and the best roast pig I’ve eaten at a frat yet.  The place was packed at 8:20pm when everyone finally decided to go in, but up till that point we lingered in the park across the street in front of the Psychology building.  Great show boys, bravo.
SLF meeting
Also a good show.  The pizza was plenty, you guys kept control of the situation and gave me more stickers to put on my netbook and a pocket constitution. I will definitely keep attending these meetings (which apparently will be wednesday nights).  Oh you libertarians (lowercase) make me lol sometimes.  I have to admit tho, getting Judge Napeletono here on campus will make me happy inside.

And remember kids, eat in moderation.  Today I managed to keep my intake under 1900 calories (dieting) and I’m proud 😀

Participate in the October 3rd HERO Campaign

Pi Kappa Alpha would like to invite you, free of charge, to participate in our HERO Campaign on Saturday, October 3rd. The mission behind this year’s campaign is to promote drunk driving awareness. This year we will be blocking off Arch Street between 33rd and 34th, to host the HERO Campaign from 12:00 Noon to 6:00 PM. Throughout the day there will be live music, free food, a volleyball tournament, basketball, eating contests, and a drunk driving simulation. Sponsors such as Fuze, Red Bull, and Coke Zero will be present.

Let’s hear it for all the fraternities giving out free food!

[SWE] Ice Cream Social

The Ladies of SWE want YOU! to know that they’re holding an ice cream social on Tuesday at 6 in Hill. They also want you to know something about officers and t-shirts, but I am a Woman Engineer, which I think default qualifies me for membership, so I didn’t pay any attention to that part.

To summarize:
