SHPE General Body Meeting

The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) will host a general body meeting tonight, April 13, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. in Conference Room A, Greenawalt Student Development Center, lower level of Creese Student Center (32nd and Chestnut Streets).
The meeting will present what the organization is about, and the spring events calendar will be distributed. Complimentary food will be provided.
The organization offers resources to those who are trying to find co-op opportunities or employment after graduation. SHPE offers students professional and academic workshops, interaction with the Philadelphia community, cultural knowledge and exciting social events. Students do not have to be Hispanic or engineers to participate in this group. All students are welcome.

Tonight: EWB Chapter Meeting

Engineers Without Borders (EWB) will hold its first chapter meeting of the spring term tonight, April 13, 2010 from 5 to 6 p.m. in the LeBow Engineering Center Hill Conference Room (31st and Market Streets).
EWB is a student organization with the main purpose of helping the developing world. EWB provides the basics of life such as water and shelter, using appropriate and sustainable technology. More importantly, EWB helps people help themselves.

LeBow College of Business and the LeBow Alumni Council will host a discussion with David Devan (above), executive director of the Opera Company of Philadelphia, tonight, April 13, 2010 at 6 p.m. in the Anthony J. Drexel Picture Gallery, Main Building third floor (32nd and Chestnut Streets).
Devan joined the Opera Company of Philadelphia in January 2006, following an extensive North American search spearheaded by artistic director Robert B. Driver to identify a managing director to oversee all income-generating departments, as well as board development and community programs. In March 2009, the Opera Company Board of Directors unanimously supported Devan’s appointment as executive director.

Gamma Sigma Sigma Meet-and-Greet

Gamma Sigma Sigma, a national service sorority, is hosting a meet-and-greet on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Ross Commons 2nd Floor Lounge (34th Street and Powelton Avenue). Students interested in joining the sorority are inivted to attend to meet Gamma Sigma Sigma members and enjoy snacks, coffee and tea.
Gamma Sigma Sigma members perform 12 hours of community service a term. Those who cannot attending the session can email litz@drexel.edu for more information about joining the sorority.
